APPROVED MEMA DISTRICT 6 REGIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW
About the plan
A regional hazard mitigation plan has been developed that includes Clarke, Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, and Smith Counties and the municipalities within these counties. The purpose of the plan is to provide a blueprint for community officials to use for reducing vulnerability to natural hazards that impact the counties and their jurisdictions. The plan has been approved pending adoption by both the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). Each county and municipality will be officially bringing the plan up for adoption at local meetings to be held in the coming months.
Accessing the Plan
Overall the plan is large and composed of a number of sections. For ease of review, it may be easiest to download your county's annex which contains most of the same information that can be found in the main body of the plan, but only for that specific county.
